A Few Words About Us
The base of Rex Howard’s operations was located in John Green’s Grocery, Ruby’s father, until 1985 when the current office was constructed a couple of hundred feet up the highway from the grocery. As Sevier County has grown and changed so too has Rex Howard’s. What started simply as a sideline income to a full time job has grown into one of the top landscaping companies in East Tennessee providing a full array of landscape and minor excavating services. They were joined in 1995 by their son Kevin after graduating from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design.
In 2000 their daughter Brenda Oakley joined the business as well where she serves as office manager. Rex and Ruby stepped down from daily involvement in the business in 2004 after more than 40 years of work in the landscaping and excavating business. In 2015 the business again grew with the addition of Denise Howard, Kevin’s wife, to assist with office predations and safety training.

Rex Howard’s Landscaping and Excavating, LLC. celebrated 50 years of business in 2019. We feel this is a significant accomplishment made possible by many skilled and dedicated employees over the years. We look forward to the many years to come as we continue to grow, evolve and meet the need of our clients who have helped us to achieve a very successful first 50 years helping Sevier County and East Tennessee with all landscaping and excavating needs.
